Kharwar Community

Traditionally, we grew Khair grass and hence the name Kharwar. In course of time, we migrated from Sone Valley in Jharkand and settled in old Palamau, Ranchi and Hazaribagh districts. We are also found in the districts of Garhawa, Daltonganj, Latehar, Lohardaga and Chatra in Jharkhand state. We are known as a Mundari speaking Indian tribe.
